FDA Approved to Treat AK
LaseMD is FDA approved to treat actinic keratosis, commonly known as AK, which is a precancerous growth caused by overexposure to UV rays.
What to Expect
During treatment, you will feel some heat and tingling as the laser passes over the skin, but the discomfort is very minimal. Depending on depth of treatment, a numbing cream may be used prior to the procedure.
A mild treatment takes as little as five minutes, while a deeper treatment can last up to 20 minutes. Patients will have some visible redness afterward, which should subside by the following day, but you will be able to resume your normal activities immediately.
Results
Most clients see optimal results within two to five days. Depending on the depth of treatment, healing time can last between one to six days.
In order to maintain a youthful glow and prevent future skin damage, monthly treatments are recommended as a complement to your skincare routine, but we will work with you to customize and determine the best treatment regimen based on your goals.
