Fractional Laser Resurfacing
Fractional laser resurfacing is ideal for patients wanting to significantly improve the appearance of aged and/or sun damaged skin.
This treatment combines ablative and non-ablative laser wavelengths for faster healing times. This treats microscopic columns of skin, with the treated areas of skin being surrounded by untreated areas.
It is one of the most effective cosmetic procedures for improving aging skin. It can reduce wrinkles, scarring and skin discoloration issues, including liver spots and age spots.
The fractional laser treatment lasts between 30 minutes and two hours, depending on the intensity of the treatment.
Ablative vs Non-Ablative Lasers
Ablative lasers remove the top layer of the skin and part of the sub-layer to remove damaged skin. Non-ablative fractional lasers, such as the Fotona 4D, keep the outer layer of skin in place, for faster healing and recovery. The body’s natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue to replace the areas of affected tissue, resulting in healthier, younger looking skin.
