Sclerotherapy
Feel comfortable showing off some leg, at any age, by safely and easily removing unwanted spider veins.
Sclerotherapy is a non-invasive injectable that treats visible veins without harming the skin’s surface, and with no downtime.
How it Works
Sclerotherapy involves an injection of either Asclera® or Sotradecol®, both FDA-approved solutions, directly into affected veins. The solution disrupts the lining of the vessels, causing them to stick together and permanently seal off the veins. This reroutes the blood through healthier vessels, and the treated veins become scar tissue that is eventually removed by the body and replaced with healthy tissue.
Spider veins are characterized by dark red, purple or blue veins in small clusters that resemble branches or spider legs. They are most commonly found on the legs, feet and face. While this vascular condition is not often a cause for medical concern, many women and men choose to have them removed for aesthetic reasons.
Although treated veins are removed, it is still possible for new veins to develop in the future. Multiple sessions may be required for maximum results.
